To Future Emily:
I have many hopes for you, dreams, and things I want to accomplish in the years to come. Things I know aren't as far off as they once felt so many years ago. Right now, we are reaching into the future as I write this letter to you. Wow, things use to seem so distant and out of my reach, like I was unworthy of them. But as I sit here now, I realize that I deserve the world and everything beyond that as well. We are one and the same, dreamers. I write to you filled with hope for the future. My wish for you is to be where you want to be in 10 years. Why ten? Even number, a good amount of time that won't stress us out. Steady pace, my sweet soul.
I also want to thank you. Thank you for facing everything you have up until this point. Thank you for trusting that everything will one day fall into place. Our future is bright, I can feel it. In 2022, you are engaged to the love of your life and on the steps of marriage - only a few more months. You have a great family, group of friends and wonderful writing community. Things are looking up even when you don't feel it. So, when life is going wrong, know this: everything worked out before and it'll work out again.
Everything hasn't always been simple or easy but somehow we always managed to stand back up. That's what I want you to take with you as you move forward in life. If something knocks you on your butt or a hundred steps back, remember to try again. Life is a roller coaster, but it can be ridden with confidence and grace as long as you never give up on it or yourself.
I promise to never give up on giving us our ten year dream of being a full-time author and publishing more and more books.
And maybe in ten years we'll start a whole new series of characters. But for now, I think Lucy needs our attention because she is us. She needs more stories. I promise to give her and the others a chance to grow in their world like we have given ourselves.
Two books published, a ton more to go! The Will You Love Me Again Series is only the beginning, little bean.
Here's to the future and writing Book 3 this year and many more in the years to come. We are soaring!!
